Time to dress up!

Michaela Theibel X Flair Copenhagen

We have exciting news! Flair Copenhagen partnered up with Maya Karanesheva, the young upcoming Bulgarian designer, and Michaela Theibel, Danish influencer and environmental activist, to create a collection of three dresses inspired by the 80's. This collection is all about delicate silk, a bold pattern, high shoulder pads, and sexy length. The color pallet has been chosen with a party mood in mind: gold, aubergine purple, and turquoise blue, all colors denoted by soft shades when reflected by the (party) lights.

This is the debut formal outwear for Flair Copenhagen, and the intention is to remind us how lovely it is to dress up for a special occasions, these days, even at home.

The limited-edition dresses are produced with 100% upcycled silk in the EU, taking fair price into serious consideration. We stand for:

Sustainable, affordable luxury

3 words which normally do not stand together.

Michaela agreed to be the face of this campaign because of common environmental values and desire for a more sustainable fashion approach. She, like us, wants to make a change in the world, and chose to support us with this cause.

First of all, I want to congratulate you on the amazing collaboration that you and Flair Copenhagen have created! I am really curious to get to know you a bit better, especially why did you choose to approach Flair and collaborate with them for this campaign? And what do you like about the brand?

Well, one of the reasons is that I think Flair Copenhagen makes very beautiful and elegant garments... classic and simple! Also, it is very sustainable, and I really love that they work with upcycled silk and the fact that they don’t overproduce, making everything a limited edition. I truly care about working with talented and sustainable brands like Flair.

Besides the fact that the dresses look amazing on you, how do you see them and where would you wear them?

First of all, the dresses and their colors are really beautiful and elegant! Silk is a very comfortable material, and it doesn’t stretch anywhere. I think they perfectly fit at parties, especially for New Year's or Christmas period. But I also think you could wear them in spring with a couple of cool sneakers, or even at home.

Can you tell me more about your social media career? How did it start?

I have been modeling in Miami for many years and that was actually why and how this career started. I got a lot of followers there and, actually, I had never thought to become an influencer. But I love it! I have many projects and collaborations, among which my own skincare line, but I really enjoy collaborations that involve being out there physically, and not only online. And the perfect example is the partnership with Flair Copenhagen and this amazing dress collection!

My last question for you is about your sustainable lifestyle. What are your daily actions that define it?

I care about the environment in everything I do. I am an ambassador for 4ocean, and I commit to some sustainable daily actions like trashing up and recycling. I really care what I eat and where food comes from, but I am not 100% vegan. I think that it is ok to eat meat once in a while if you know that what you are eating comes from an environmentally friendly, small and local farmer production.

That's the way I see sustainability: it is not about being extreme, but it is about being eco-friendly and balanced in your daily life, especially when it comes to food and clothes.
